Add new Font Family to Smartforms in SAP – Step By Step guide

Add new Font family to Smartforms style in SAP can be done using the the standard SAP Tcode SE73.

Add new Font Family (True Type Font)

First launche the SAPscript Font Maintenance SAP Tcode SE73.

Check Font Families and click Install TrueType Font.

Install the normal version of the Font family

by launching the SE73?s next screen with these parameters

• Font Attribute BOLD – unchecked
• Font Attribute ITALIC ? unchecked
• Do Not Replace Other Fonts – Checked

The next will screen will open File Explorer to select the Font file ( TTF ) format. Select the Font File and open.

Install the ITALIC? version of the Font family

Do the same as for installing a new font family.
Make sure you use the same name for ?Name of Font File?

Launch the Upload with these parameters:

• Font Attribute BOLD – unchecked
• Font Attribute ITALIC ?checked
• Do Not Replace Other Fonts – Checked

Install the BOLD version of the Font family

Do the same as for installing a new font family.
Make sure you use the same name for ?Name of Font File?
Launch the Upload with these parameters:

• Font Attribute BOLD – checked
• Font Attribute ITALIC ?unchecked
• Do Not Replace Other Fonts ? Checked

Install the BOLD + Italic version of the Font family

Do the same as for installing a new font family.
Make sure you use the same name for ?Name of Font File?

Launch the Upload with these parameters:

• Font Attribute BOLD – checked
• Font Attribute ITALIC ?checked
• Do Not Replace Other Fonts – Checked

Check New Font Family is installed

Check in SE73 ( SAPscript Font maintenance SAP tcode), if the font is well installed with Italic and Bold
The new installed font for Smartforms should be :

Transport Font for Smartforms

When uploading a new font family to SAP, SAP will request a Transport Workbench.
So in order to transport the new installed Font for Smartforms, just transport this workbench Transport and the work is done.
