Maintenance Notification will help to describe the technical condition for an object subject of the issue and then forward the request to maintenance department in order to perform the right tasks.
For Technical stuff, the notification represents a word document helping them through their assigned tasks.
There is 3 kinds?of notifications:
- Problem notification: Notification of a malfunction or problem that has occurred
- Maintenance request: Request for tasks to be performed
- Activity report: Documentation of activities that have been performed

SAP Notification Category (QMTYP)
In SAP PM ( Plant Maintenance), ?SAP Notification Category is a?key that identifies notification types in an application component.
The Standard solution offers 3 kind of Category that can not be customized:
- 01 – Maintenance notification in the Plant Maintenance (PM) application component
- 02 – ?Quality notification in the Quality Management (QM) application component
- 03 – ?Service notification in the Customer Service (CS) application component
- 04 – ?Claim
- 05 – General Notification

SAP Notification Categories are set in the standard table TQ80T and the TQ80T_T for langauge dependant description.

SAP Notification Types is the?Key that enables notifications to be differentiated and grouped according to notification category, notification origin and other criteria.
The features of the notification are defined in Customizing for each notification type.

TQ80 :?Notification Types.?The Field for Notif. name is TQ80-QMART.
SAP Notification Type’s description is handled in the table TQ80_T. The description can be found in the field TQ80_T-QMARTX.
The standard view?V_TQ80_M give an extension view of SAP Notification Type.
Make attention for the following fields because it pilots actions for follow up of the notification.
